The 39th annual UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational will occur on Saturday Sept 17th 2011 at the Tripp Athletic Center located at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. All proceeds after costs goes to support the Aleppo Shriners Transportation Fund which provides funds to allow for free transportation of children to the Shriners Hospitals for Children where they will receive world-class pediatric care in the areas of burns, orthopedics, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palette care to regardless of patients’ or their families’ ability to pay. Parking will be available in parking lot 7 at Umass Dartmouth. The day’s events begin at 10:30 when over 1000 of the top NCAA Division III male and female cross country runners and teams from throughout New England participate in New England’s largest and longest country cross event. Later in the day will be a football game featuring the Umass Dartmouth Corsairs vs. the Maine Maritime Mariners, what is sure to be an exciting game un til the very end. A number of Shriners will be on hand to help and to provide information, along with of the world-famous Shriner’s Clowns who be entertaining the crowds, and a very special guest.
